With a PhD in international and developmental administration, Derek Bryson Park currently works as Forefront Wealth Management’s managing director. When not providing investment advice to the clients of Forefront Wealth Management, Derek Bryson Park enjoys rooting on the NY Yankees and the Broadway play Cabaret.

Cabaret the musical is about a university student, Brian Roberts, who travels to Berlin in 1931 to finish his German studies. Without a whole lot of money, Roberts befriends a flamboyant, American singer who works at the cabaret-style Kit Kat Klub. She draws him into her world amidst the Nazi revolution happening all around them, but they are fully immersed in their own exclusive decadent lifestyle.

In its 50th year, the Roundabout Theatre Company (based in NY) is taking Cabaret across the country in a national tour now through August 2017. Although the premise has changed a bit (instead university student Brian Roberts, the lead character is a struggling writer named Cliff Bradshaw), the examination of self-involvement and narcissistic ideals remains in this version.
